Friday evening, eight people in a cosy room, whisky and pizza — and not a single presentation. That is exactly how ANTI-MEETUP was set up: informal conversation for people who work in e-commerce and digital. No selling, no moderator and no stories about anyone's own incredible brilliance.
What kind of format this is
ANTI-MEETUP is a deliberate "un-conference". No talks on a schedule, no slides, no partner stands. Only people from the market who came to talk to one another.
An informal meeting where nobody sells anything to anyone. There will be no stories about one's own incredible brilliance.The rule of the ANTI-MEETUP evening
Are you curious about where the market is heading and what is happening with technology? Has the time of service arrived, or is technology still ahead? Come along — everyone will share their view of the market and insider knowledge completely free of charge.
At an informal meeting, everyone gets a fantastic chance to learn what people in the web and e-commerce market think, to hear their reasoning, and to discuss ideas and conclusions.
Who this evening is for
We did not run a strict door policy based on job titles, but we outlined the circle of people straight away:
- interesting personalities from the market;
- new business directors;
- people working at web companies;
- project managers;
- internet marketers;
- owners and managers of e-commerce projects.
What would be interesting to talk about
Nobody approved the topics — these are rather four provocations that make it easy to start a conversation. After that, everyone takes it wherever they see fit.
Marketplaces are expanding
Marketplaces will replace the small and mid-sized segment of online stores. And those, in turn, will be replaced by vertically integrated services: uber, booking, amazon… Is it more complicated with services?
Waves of automation in B2B
B2B will go through several waves of management automation. We have already passed the accounting stage, the CRM wave is under way now… deep automation of management, marketing and HR is next in line… and what comes after that?
Where the revolution will happen
The main technological revolutions will take place in social networks and mobile apps — that is where the largest daily audience is today.
Closed platforms
Every social network will resist its users going outside as much as it can. That will lead to familiar internet services being replaced by in-network ones. The internet as we know it will break up into closed platforms: social networks, stores… what else?
When and where we meet
Friday, 18 November 2016. Send in your application and keep your Friday evening free. We guarantee a great informal atmosphere and remarkable stories.
How the evening goes
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 18:00–18:15 | How we start. We gather in a small but cosy room for 8—10 people. Fast wifi, a plasma screen, good speakers, abstract paintings, air conditioning. We open Jack Daniels or Dalmore. We stock up on Pepperoni and Margherita. |
| 18:15–19:00 | What comes next. Anyone may give a 5—10 minute speech on a topic they have announced themselves. Then again, you can skip it and listen to the others with a thoughtful look on your face. Everything is informal, nobody will moderate. Do not even think about bringing a presentation! But everyone will notice a speaker who has prepared. |
| 19:00–xx:00 | The most interesting part is here. After what they have heard, everyone has something to say: for example, to argue their point of view with reasons, or to start wondering whether they are right. To rethink their own experience. ANTI-MEETUP lasts until the last unanswered question. |
How to get on the list
If you would like to join and talk "about matters at hand" — no problem, but entry is by prior confirmation only.
- Fill in the form. This is the simplest step and a mandatory one at the same time: without an application we simply do not know who to expect.
- Add a link to your profile. Send your application together with a link to your Facebook profile — that way we understand who is coming and what would be interesting to discuss with you.
- Wait for our reply. We confirm attendance personally. If the places have already been taken, we will say so honestly.
If you cannot make it
Interesting personalities and people with ideas are always welcome — we will spend the evening of Friday, 18 November, in cheerful company with whisky and pizza. For those who cannot make it, we will publish a video and send out a "secret link".
Pass it on
If you know people who would be interesting to listen to, forward them this page with the invitation. A repost on social media is welcome too.
And once more about the main thing: your application should be sent together with a link to your Facebook profile. The rest — the evening, the conversation and the last unanswered question — is on us.
