Case study

Project story

MIRATON is one of Ukraine's leading footwear retailers, with a chain of physical stores and a large online store. ANIART is responsible for the ongoing technical support and development of the MIRATON online store: we keep the site stable 24/7, steadily grow its functionality, and promptly implement the client team's requests.

The client: one of the leaders of Ukraine's footwear market

MIRATON is a retail chain and online store with a full catalog of footwear and accessories for the whole family. The brand has held its place among the country's most recognizable footwear retailers for years, and the online channel has evolved from a reference storefront into a full-fledged sales channel that works side by side with the physical stores.

For a business of this scale, the online store is not just a catalog but a critical part of the operating model. Every hour of downtime, every slow catalog page, or every failure at the payment step means lost orders and eroded customer trust. That is why the client needed not a one-off contractor but a technical partner ready to take long-term responsibility for the platform and to share the risks of seasonal load with the business.

The challenge: continuity and speed in seasonal retail

Footwear retail lives by the rhythm of the seasons: collection changes in spring and autumn, pre-holiday peaks, and large-scale sales. During these periods traffic and load on the site spike, and that is exactly when the cost of a technical error is at its highest.

Seasonal peaks and sales

During promotions, a large number of users hit the site at the same time, and the number of orders and payment transactions grows. The store has to withstand the load with no drop in speed, process payments correctly, and not lose a single order. Preparing for such peaks is a separate layer of engineering work that cannot be done "an hour before the sale starts".

The need for a reliable technical partner

The second part of the challenge is speed of response. MIRATON's marketing and commercial teams constantly generate ideas: new sections, promo mechanics, changes to how the catalog is presented. For these ideas not to get stuck in a queue for months, the client needs a partner who knows the project from the inside and delivers tasks quickly without sacrificing stability. That is exactly the role we play for MIRATON.

Approach and workflow

We built the engagement as a continuous cycle of support and development rather than a set of disconnected fixes. Every request follows a predictable path — from task definition to release on the production site and post-deployment control.

  1. Diving into the project. An audit of the current state, codebase and integrations so that decisions are made with full context.
  2. Monitoring. Setting up round-the-clock observation of availability and speed to spot problems before users do.
  3. Sprint planning. Prioritizing tasks together with the client team on a transparent schedule.
  4. Development and testing. Every change is first verified on a separate environment, never straight in production.
  5. Release and control. After deployment we check the key scenarios: catalog, cart and payment.
  6. Peak readiness. We run optimization and load checks in advance, ahead of the seasonal sales.

What we do for MIRATON

Our area of responsibility covers the entire technical side of the online store — from day-to-day maintenance to the development of new functionality.

Key areas of support

24/7 monitoring

We watch the platform's availability and speed around the clock and react promptly to any deviation.

Feature development

We build new sections and promo mechanics and improve the usability of the catalog and the checkout flow.

Integration upkeep

We keep online payments, analytics and data exchange with delivery services working correctly.

Performance optimization

We prepare the store for seasonal peaks and sales and remove performance bottlenecks.

Day-to-day maintenance and communication

Day-to-day maintenance is above all about predictability. The client knows the platform is under constant watch and that their requests never go unanswered:

  • prompt resolution of incidents and errors;
  • regular improvements and updates on the client's requests;
  • technical quality control after every release;
  • transparent communication and a clear status for every task.

Architecture and technology

The MIRATON online store runs on a proven, well-scaling stack. The server-side logic is built on PHP, while catalog, order and customer data are stored in MySQL. Online payments are handled through the integration with LiqPay, and we analyze user behavior and site performance with Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Integration stability

We pay particular attention to the stability of the integrations: the payment service, analytics and data exchange with delivery services must work in concert, because a failure in even one link is immediately felt by shoppers at the checkout step. So any update on the MIRATON side or in the external services is accompanied by a check of the end-to-end scenarios.

The core principle of our support is no changes made "blindly". Every improvement first goes through a test environment and only reaches the production site — where real shoppers see it — after verification. That is how we combine speed with predictability.

Directions of technical support

To keep the engagement transparent, we structured our responsibility by direction — from infrastructure to business functionality.

DirectionWhat it includesValue for the business

Results of the engagement

The model of continuous support gives MIRATON the main thing — confidence. The platform runs stably all year round, including through the hottest seasons; new features appear regularly; and marketing ideas are implemented without months of waiting. The technical side has stopped being a source of risk and become a foundation for the growth of online sales.
