One of our teams is waiting for its project manager. Below is a full description of the role: what the day-to-day work looks like, the qualities we are after, the candidate profiles that suit us, the terms we offer and what the test assignment involves. The material will also be useful to anyone who simply wants to understand how a PM's job in web development is organised.

What awaits you and why ANIART is worth working for
Everyday we work hard to make life of our clients better and happierThe ANIART team motto
A focus on effectiveness
A project manager is a specialist who builds stable systems out of unstable elements: requirements change, the human factor is always there — people fall ill, technologies get updated, knowledge becomes outdated. You have to distribute your effort intelligently across the hottest points of change.
Challenging tasks that help you grow
You will always have a share of tasks you already know how to do well. But another share will require you to learn something new — and that ensures continuous growth.
A systematic approach
We are not a company of lone heroes. We are a company that develops a balanced system for delivering services and running projects. To be successful you do not have to carry everything yourself: a manager understands the tasks, allocates resources and distributes them to get the work done.
Steady career growth
Projects of different technical complexity and scale give you the opportunity to work and develop for at least 5 years.
Who we are looking for
A candidate who can work under uncertainty, learns quickly and is focused on results, with the following key qualities.
- Professionalism. Work is in your TOP 2 life priorities, you find self-realisation in your work and you want to keep raising your level of competence.
- A strong desire to work specifically in web development, e-commerce and internet marketing that you can demonstrate: you built websites at university, learned some technology stack on courses — HTML, JS, PHP, CSS, for example — or administered a website at your previous job, and so on.
- Systems thinking, a comprehensive approach. A project manager is someone who works with risks and probabilities.
- An interest in project management, communication and negotiation. You can show evidence of that interest: books and articles you have read, courses you have taken, videos you have watched, methodologies you know, and so on.
- Results orientation, effectiveness, time management. The easiest thing is to be busy; the hardest is to be productive: to deliver projects on time, at the required quality, within budget, and to leave the client genuinely satisfied with both the result and the process.
- Diligence, manageability. For all your abilities, there are people whose experience can cut any project path in half. And if, having looked into the situation, they suggest certain solutions to you — implement them. Sometimes you simply have to do what you are told or what the client asks for.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, high standards. There is no such thing as a project done "broadly well". There is a project done "100% well". Clients react most sharply to exactly those small things, to carelessness. Do you demand quality work from yourself and from the team?
- Organisational skills. For example, a web project suddenly needs to be translated into 5 languages — will you find someone to do it and keep it under control? Will you find a designer with a particular style, ask the team to work over the weekend? That is a PM's job, and the point is not just to do it, but to get the required result and quality.
Three candidate profiles suit us
- A beginner with potential. Straight out of university, 1–2 years of work experience. If you are a perfect fit in terms of the competence profile, you can apply for an intern or assistant project manager position. Further growth depends on you alone.
- An experienced client-facing manager from another B2B industry. Services are preferable: banking, CRM, automation, the advertising business and so on, with experience of working under a high load. 3–5 years of experience with projects and clients. It can be less, but that has to be offset by high motivation and ability. To start bringing value quickly you will need 3–6 months of intensive immersion in the industry. It will take effort, but it is worth it.
- A manager with several years of web development experience on the client side. For example, you worked at some online store and know the problems of e-commerce projects first-hand. You will need to relearn a few things, but it will be a clear level up and the new challenge you have been missing.
