About the technology
TypeScript is JavaScript with a type system layered on top, so your editor and compiler catch mistakes before the code ever runs, rather than when a customer hits them. On a large store that’s the difference between code the team is afraid to touch and code they confidently grow for years. It makes the codebase self-documenting, safer to refactor and easier to hand to new developers — which is why Google, Microsoft and most modern teams have standardised on it.
We write large front-ends in TypeScript so its types catch mistakes during development — long before anything breaks for a customer on the checkout page.
