About the client

The AUTOBOSS business

AUTOBOSS is one of Ukraine's leading auto-glass importers. Its customers are service stations, shops and glass-replacement centres that order daily and need to see availability and pricing immediately. A business like this wins on how fast an order is processed and how convenient the portal is for partners.

  • Auto-glass import and wholesale supply
  • A partner network of service centres and shops
  • Daily repeat orders
Case study

Project story

AUTOBOSS is the number-one importer of automotive glass in Ukraine, with exclusive distribution rights across several product categories. We built the company a B2B portal for its wholesale and retail business — a self-service sales channel built around a catalogue of more than 10,000 SKUs with real-time prices and stock, so that partners can find the right glass and place an order without a single phone call.

The client and the market

AUTOBOSS is one of the largest importers of automotive glass in Ukraine. Over years of work the company earned exclusive distribution rights on several product categories and built a loyal customer base that spans two very different worlds: wholesale partners — fitting centres, body shops, regional dealers and installers who order in volume — and retail buyers who need a single windshield for one specific car. Serving both from the same inventory, at fair and competitive prices, is exactly the balancing act that made a dedicated B2B platform necessary.

The Ukrainian B2B market is younger than its Western counterparts, but that youth is not a weakness. If anything, buyers here expect the same convenience they enjoy as consumers: an online catalogue, transparent prices and self-service ordering around the clock.

Ukrainian B2B, though young, is actually quite technologically advanced.Maia Sokolska, Project Manager

The challenge: manual sales that would not scale

As volumes grew, the sales process started to work against the company. Every wholesale and retail deal was handled by hand. Managers acted as a human search engine and a pricing calculator at once: they clarified which glass fit which car, checked whether an item was physically in stock, and worked out the customer's personal price and discount before a single order could be confirmed. During a period of market contraction, when the priority shifted to cutting operational costs, this manual model became the bottleneck.

Hours lost to clarification

A large share of every working day disappeared into repetitive questions — "does this fit my model?", "is it in stock?", "what is my price?" — that a well-designed system can answer instantly. The more the business grew, the more managers it needed simply to keep answering the same questions, and the higher the risk of a mistake slipping into an order.

Auto glass is genuinely hard to search

Choosing the correct windshield is not like picking a book by its title. A single car model can have several glass variants that differ by year, body type and options — rain and light sensors, heating, an antenna, camera mounts or acoustic layers. Order the wrong one and you get a return, a delivery delay and eroded trust. Any search we built therefore had to speak the language of the workshop: car make and model first, technical details second.

How we approached the project

We treated the portal as a product, not a website — starting from the real jobs a buyer and a manager do every day, then building outward. The work moved through clearly staged steps:

  1. Discovery. We mapped the wholesale and retail flows end to end, together with the catalogue structure and the rules behind personal prices and discounts.
  2. Data model and catalogue. We organised more than 10,000 SKUs into a clean nomenclature and connected live feeds for stock and pricing.
  3. Professional search. We built a search that finds glass by car make and model and shows availability at a glance.
  4. Personal pricing. We made each client's prices and discounts transparent and automatic, removing the manual recalculation step.
  5. Cross-sell and complementary goods. We added a universal section of related products with one-click addition to the current order.
  6. Manager dashboard. We gave managers a workstation that controls every stage of an order.
  7. Launch and analytics. We connected GA4, released, and kept refining on the basis of real usage.

What we built

The portal replaces the phone call with a set of self-service tools that cover the whole buying journey — from finding the right part to tracking the order:

Catalogue of 10,000+ SKUs

The full assortment in one structured place, with an individual page for every product.

Real-time prices and stock

Live data instead of yesterday's spreadsheet, so a buyer always sees what is actually available.

Professional search

Find glass by car make and model, then narrow down by the technical details that matter.

Visual availability indicators

In-stock and out-of-stock items are distinguished at a glance, with no need to ask.

Universal complementary goods

A dedicated section that surfaces the primers, mouldings and accessories that go with a glass.

One-click cross-sell

Related items drop straight into the main order in a single click.

B2B promotions module

Promotional mechanics built specifically for wholesale buyers.

Manager dashboard

A control centre that tracks and manages every stage of every order.

A search built for auto glass

The search is the heart of the portal. Instead of forcing buyers to memorise part numbers, it lets them start from the car itself and drill down to the exact variant, with availability shown right there in the results. That single change removes the most common reason a customer used to pick up the phone.

Transparent personal pricing

Every wholesale relationship has its own agreed prices and discounts. The portal shows each client their own numbers automatically, so there is nothing to clarify and nothing to recalculate — the price a partner sees is the price they pay.

The core idea: a manager should never be a lookup service. When the catalogue, the price and the stock level answer for themselves, people are free to work on the deals that genuinely need a human.

Architecture and technology

The portal runs on a PHP and MySQL back end. A REST API keeps prices and stock synchronised with the company's master system in real time, which is what makes the visual availability indicators trustworthy rather than decorative. Google Analytics 4 sits on top, so the team can see how buyers actually move through the catalogue and where the ordering journey can be smoothed further. The data model was designed to scale: adding thousands more SKUs, new categories or new promotional rules does not mean rebuilding the system.

Results

The shift is qualitative but decisive — the routine that used to consume the sales team simply moved into the software:

  • managers are freed from repetitive clarification and can focus on real deals;
  • partners and retail buyers self-serve, finding the right glass on their own;
  • transparent personal pricing removes friction and disputes from every order;
  • one-click cross-sell lifts the value of the average order;
  • the catalogue and the promotions engine scale together with the business.
